daydreamin.am i?

it is not that i have a whole lot of money to spend but these little things kept appearing in my dreams over the past few days. i always want a new camera, yes of course a camera that will give me fine quality images without the need of photo editing. My current point and shoot digital camera sucks especially when it comes to low lighting condition. The images are so blur and also with so much noise. I know i know, i should go after a dslr then. I like the quality images of a dslr camera but i don't like the fact that it is so big and heavy. The body itself is heavy enough and what's more with the lens attached ay? Yeah that's one of the reasons why dslr is not chosen by people like me, apart from the price itself. I like to strain myself with a baggy handbag stuffed with every kind of things in it, i wouldn't want to carry another half a kilo camera or more. Yep true, that's the price that i have to pay to get real good images. to bear the heaviness hanging around my neck! hehe but the introduction of micro four thirds system camera really drives me crazy recently. I never knew about this invention until i saw this-so-called friend of mine used Panasonic Lumix DMC GF1 during my trip to Sydney last November. It was cool to see him carrying the camera cause it seems to be very light and small, thus very easy to carry around. I really like this micro four third system for the fact that it removes the mirror usually found in a dslr camera, allowing more compact body with interchangeable lens and the most important thing is it gives dslr-like image quality. hehe been reading a lot of camera review lately, even more than i did for my japanese class. this thingy kinda distracts me still. study for five minutes and the next 2hours are spent on reading m43 reviews :D . So keen to have my own olympus epl-1!! I guess i would never stop dreaming until I got one for myself ;)

wish me luck!!

i've got a mid semester test today and Alhamdulillah it wasnt as hard as expected. But i have another test tomorrow. it's an oral test. I thought the oral test is going to be like answering questions asked by the teacher straight away without knowing what the questions really are. But it's not going to be that way, it is actually more simple than that. I just need to memorize a few lines given earlier in the previous class and just say it out loud in front of the teacher tomorrow. Isn't that simple? okay maybe i am underestimating this, but yeah don't you agree with me? hehe. Well maybe the most difficult thing is the pronunciation. We need to say all those words correctly and maybe with the correct tone too. Here are those lines i am talking about...

umm so wish me luck! :D

I'm a Good Person But I Don't Pray 5 Times a Day

>>>>>>totally reblogged from shaelaiza.blogspot.com

...does God even care?

If He doesn't need us then why must we pray to him all the time?

Is performing the fardh prayer 5 times a day too much?

Is it enough to only be a good person? We donate generously to charity, practice good manners, help the needy, etc. but is it enough to be morally good while we neglect our religious obligations?

Is it fair for a good person to be punished by God? How do we define a 'good person' anyway?

Watch the video for answers.

melbourne - a recommended place to visit

Few pictures from my trip to Melbourne just a few days before the new year. It was entirely a great shopping trip and also great to make us broke. As planned, the first and second day there were spent on shopping. We were supposed to go to Luna Park (a theme park kinda place) on the third day, but soon after we cancelled the plan since we haven't finished touring all of the shopping malls yet. Haha how crazy is that? yeap we went crazy over the year end sale cause most of the prices were cheaper and some was a lot cheaper than what we can get in Auckland. We can actually buy the same label brand clothes in Auckland but since there are a lot more choices in Melbourne and also very much cheaper so we never think twice : D
I've got to buy everything on my wishlist except the brogues. It was so unacceptable to think that i cannot buy any of the brogues i found cause all of them use pig skin as the inner lining. That was so frustrating. Where can i get a pair of brogues without pig skin? Help me please. :)
So overall it was a nice trip. It was fun even though we only managed to spend about 4days there. Melbourne is a very great place to shop. The food is great with a lot halal restaurants to choose. I'd like to revisit if I could ;)

A very old cathedral at my back. Forgot the actual name already.

A line of bicycles to be rented. We also got rental bicycles just like this in Auckland City but not this many. I guess this kinda rental wont work well in Malaysia (if there's any) because of the hot sunny weather.

@ Blok M, a famous indonesian restaurant in Melbourne. Proven delicious!!~

@ National Art Gallery. xmasuk pn amik gmbr kt luar dah cukup! ;p

I think I look tall! hahaha

Yarra River

Tutti Frutti Waffle and Banana Crepe @ Max Brenner Chocolate Bar. So gorgeously yummy!!!

Myer @ Burke St.

@ a chinese restaurant. It was a treat from my cousin. thanks!~

@ Melbourne Airport.

it's been so long.....

it's been so long since i chatted and met this pakistani friend of mine. I guess because we now live in different part of the city and we've never met since 2009. I've never once spotted him anywhere in Auckland Uni last year, might be because of the different faculties we studying in. I know him when I was at Huia Residence, his room was just in front of my room. It was close that he can barely hear me coughing . About this guy, I am so impressed of him cuz he already started doing his phd at the age of 25, sponsored by the Pakistan government. And he's been sent to many places like America and Canada for conferences about his research. I think it's so cool!! dun u think so? Sorry too many facts about him. Heee,I'm just too excited to hear from him just now. And he's already married to a Pakistani lady, his wife is here now and he's going to become a father this May!!. Woah im just amazed that so many things could happen in a year. Time flies real fast but anyhow, congrats and omedetou Najif!

hajimemashite

So these are actually things that I need to memorize for tomorrow's self introduction session. I don't really need to memorize though but to be more convincing and get it smooth, I rather do so. The hiragana and katakana fonts have been downloaded just now but I cant find 'wa'.Where on earth can i find it on my keyboard?? So instead of watashi, i used atashi. It's so very formal way to introduce yourself in japanese but this is what i learnt in class so yeah. this is it.

domain and our mini picnic.

Anne and I got jealous seeing quite number of people having picnic the last day we went to Auckland domain. So we enthusiastically popped out with the idea of our own summer picnic the next day with Safi and Nurul joining too. Nasi Lemak was prepared by Safi and with some fruits were brought along. Yeah we had the heavy Nasi Lemak in about 6.30 in the afternoon(still) as per requested by Anne who suddenly craved for it.

nasi lemak by safi

it's not hard, it's just a very sour plum.

this purple and so blooming tree is actually a bougainvillea. spring is not over yet huh?  :D

sleeping on the grass is so relaxing and cool.

see my happy face? buruk beno.

i was amazed

i was having lunch in my apartment when i saw something quite a distance away through the window. It was my first time seeing this kind of ship with own eyes, though not exactly in front me. Not missing this chance, i quickly grabbed anne's 80x zoom powershot camera and shot a few pictures from the balcony.

so this is it. can you see it?? the one with white sails. can i call it a pirate ship? yeah exactly like the one you see on the Pirates of the Carribean.

i was amazed cause i never knew people still use this kinda ship nowadays.

so it was about to land at the Auckland harbour i guess.

the place where the pictures were taken from. Anne has a cool camera dun u think? :)
